The personal allowance is £12,570. After that you pay 20% on the next £37,700 (up to £50,270), 40% up to £125,140 and 45% above that. The personal allowance is reduced by £1 for every £2 of income over £100,000.
How much National Insurance do I pay?
Employees pay 8% on earnings between £12,570 and £50,270 a year, and 2% on earnings above £50,270.
What does this not cover?
Scottish income tax has different bands, so Scottish taxpayers will see different results. Pension is treated as a net pay arrangement, which lowers taxable pay but not National Insurance.
